Explore how interoception, somatic education, nervous system regulation and biodynamic osteopathy can support eye comfort, visual awareness and embodied vision in this free online class.

What if improving your eyesight begins not by trying harder to see, but by changing the way you sense your whole body?
In this free experiential class, Brian Siddhartha Ingle, ND, DO explores the relationship between eyesight, interoception, the nervous system, somatic awareness, and biodynamic osteopathy.
Rather than treating the eyes as isolated organs, you’ll discover how vision is connected with the brain, face, spine, breath, posture, emotion, light, and your internal state.
The eyes are part of a much larger system of perception.
When we are stressed, braced, or constantly scanning for problems, the face may tighten, the breath can become shallow, and vision may feel more effortful. When the nervous system begins to feel safer and the body becomes more internally connected, the eyes may soften and visual attention can become less strained.
This class introduces a different approach to natural eyesight and somatic vision: learning to sense yourself from the inside.
Interoception is your ability to perceive what is happening inside your body.
It includes awareness of:
- Breath
- Heartbeat
- Muscle tension
- Temperature
- Movement
- Emotion
- Comfort and discomfort
- Internal rhythms
- Subtle changes in nervous system state
Through somatic education, this inner sensing can become clearer and more refined.
Instead of constantly asking, What is wrong?, you begin to notice where there is ease, movement, support, adaptability, and Health.
This shift in attention can change the way you relate to your eyes and to your whole body.
Vision changes with nervous system state.
Under stress, attention often narrows. The jaw and face can tighten. The eyes may work harder. Breathing may become more restricted.
When we feel supported and safe, our relationship with the visual world can change. The eyes may become softer, peripheral awareness can increase, and seeing may involve less effort.
In this class, Brian will explore how the eyes, nervous system, face, posture, breath, spine, and inner body awareness function together as one living system.
A central principle in Brian’s work is:
There is always more Health in the body than distress.
Most of us have learned to focus on symptoms, weakness, pain, and what appears to be going wrong.
Biodynamic osteopathy offers another possibility.
Even when tension, fatigue, discomfort, or visual strain are present, the body still contains an organizing intelligence working toward regulation, adaptation, and coherence.
In biodynamic osteopathy, this is sometimes described as the inherent treatment plan.
Rather than forcing the body to change, we learn to perceive and support the forces of Health already present.
- Understand vision as a whole-body process
- Explore the connection between the eyes and nervous system
- Use interoception to develop greater internal awareness
- Recognize patterns of strain, bracing, and visual effort
- Sense the difference between tension and ease
- Soften the face and eyes through somatic awareness
- Explore the relationship between vision, breath, posture, and emotion
- Develop a wider, less effortful quality of attention
- Connect with the body’s inherent capacity for self-regulation
Brian will also guide you through an experiential practice designed to help you:
- Soften unnecessary effort in the face and eyes
- Sense your body from within
- Explore the connection between the eyes and the rest of the body
- Notice how nervous system state influences visual perception
- Experience seeing as an embodied process rather than something the eyes do alone
The aim is not to force the eyes to perform differently.
It is to create conditions in which perception can become more adaptable, comfortable, and connected with the whole body.
Outer vision and inner perception are more closely related than we often realise.
As you become more aware of your internal state, you may begin to notice how your breathing, posture, emotions, nervous system, and visual habits influence one another.
This class offers a new way to approach the eyes: not as separate mechanical structures that need to be fixed, but as part of a living field of perception involving the brain, face, spine, heart, breath, fluids, and nervous system.
You’ll leave with practical tools and a deeper understanding of how somatic awareness and interoception can support eye comfort, nervous system regulation, and embodied vision.
