10-Week Online Practitioner Program with Maya Andersson and Brian Siddhartha Ingle

The Living Somatic Movement Teacher Training (LSMTT) is a 10-week online practitioner program for Living Somatics students, who want to teach Living Somatics movement lessons with clarity, confidence, and an embodied understanding of the work.
The training combines live online teaching, supervised practice, mentoring, home study, and assessment. Its central principle is simple: you embody what you teach.
By the end of the program, you will have a solid understanding of the learning strategies and teaching methods of Living Somatics, together with the practical skills needed to guide others through somatic movement lessons.
For you who have already completed the fundamental training in Living Somatic, you have already developed an understanding of the theory, principles, and foundational practices of this work. The Teacher Training takes the next step. The focus shifts from experiencing the work yourself to learning how to facilitate that experience for others. You will explore the many elements involved in teaching an effective somatic movement lesson, including language, pacing, observation, lesson structure, movement exploration, and creating a safe and supportive learning environment.
At the same time, the training invites you to develop a more refined quality of listening. Rather than treating a lesson as a fixed sequence that must always be followed in the same way, you will begin to sense when to stay with structure and when to allow a more spontaneous process to emerge.
The Training Structure
The program is conducted in three main stages:
10-week Live Online Training: The core training consists of weekly 2-hour sessions on Sundays for 10 weeks. During this program, you will learn how to teach:
• The Myth of Aging movement lessons
• The Daily "Cat Stretch”
• Individual movement explorations
• Sequences and lesson progressions
• The application of Somatic movement principles and learning strategies
• Inquiry-based movement processes that develop from embodied listening
Throughout the 10-week program, you will practice teaching sections of lessons in small groups to fellow participants, with guidance and feedback from the teaching team.
You will also receive clear, user-friendly lesson charts for the movement lessons taught during the previous 20-week program / Living Somatics training.
3-month Teaching Practice and Mentoring: Following the 10-week training, you will enter a 3-month period where you practice teaching the lessons to your own “students” (these can be friends or family members). During this time, you will practice teaching Living Somatics lessons and continue developing your embodied understanding of the work and how to facilitate it effectively.
You will have access to monthly mentor meetings where you can discuss your teaching experience, ask questions, refine your skills, and explore how to integrate the Living Somatics approach into your professional and personal life.
Final Teaching Assessment: As part of the certification process, you will teach one of the lessons you received in your prior training program to an assigned assessor. You will receive feedback designed to strengthen your teaching and help you continue to develop as a Living Somatic Movement Teacher.
You may also attend the assessments of fellow participants, offering a valuable opportunity to observe different teaching styles and deepen your own understanding of the work.
When you feel ready, you can arrange your final assessment directly with your assessor.
The training includes teaching and exploration of:
• How to teach a Living Somatics Movement Exploration lesson
• Conditions that Somatic Education may support
• Assessment and understanding somatic habituation
• Language and vocabulary for teaching somatic movement
• How to design a lesson series
• Learning how to create a lesson table to teach from
• Principles and learning strategies of Living Somatics
• How to create a safe and effective learning environment
• Observation, pacing, sequencing, and lesson progression
• Developing your own authentic teaching presence
• Moving from a structured lesson toward authentic movement and embodied inquiry
• Learning to listen to the body rather than imposing a predetermined movement outcome
• Developing sensitivity to neutral and still points
• Exploring the role of stillness as a therapeutic and educational resource
• An introduction to primary respiration from a biodynamic osteopathic perspective
• Understanding the body through the expression of deeper rhythmic processes and tides
• The concept of a self-correcting mechanism
• Learning to perceive health as something already present within the organism
• The osteopathic principle of finding “The Health” rather than searching only for dysfunction
• The relationship between somatic awareness and self-regulation / self-healing
• The role of receptivity, patience, and non-doing in movement exploration
• Encouraging movement that arises from internal sensation rather than external form
Mentoring is an important part of the training. The group will meet for four mentor meetings, approximately every four weeks, with a core Living Somatics teacher. These meetings will include:
• Group discussion
• Guided somatic inquiry
• Questions arising from your teaching practice
• Individualized coaching and feedback
• Support in integrating the work into your own life and professional practice
Participants will also have access to ongoing community support and guidance through the student WhatsApp group.

The program is designed to support both individual development and shared group learning. Living Somatics is an embodied learning process. Your first-person experience remains central throughout the training.
The teaching environment is based on:
• Acceptance
• Safety
• Inclusivity
• Curiosity
• Exploration
• Deep listening
• Allowing rather than forcing
• Trust in the learning process
Our intention is to help each participant understand the course material while developing their own voice and confidence as a teacher.
Training participants will receive:
• Video recordings of training lectures, discussions, and mentor meetings
• Living Somatics Movement Lesson plans in clear, user-friendly charts
• Access to an student WhatsApp group for community support and mentoring
• Guided resources to support personal practice and teaching development
If you are unable to attend a session live, you can work with the recording. Recordings and course materials will be available online on the Dropbox platform.

Your home practice will include:
• Teaching Living Somatics movement lessons
• Using the online lessons to deepen embodied awareness
• Developing an ongoing personal somatic self-practice
• Practicing awareness of neutral, stillness, and spontaneous movement
• Documenting your learning experiences
